Bio Sketch

German-born American architect and critic (1920–2006). Curator of architecture at MoMA, editor of Architectural Forum. An influential voice in mid-century Modernism who later became one of its most prominent critics. His Form Follows Fiasco (1977) attacked the functionalist dogmas of Modern architecture, paralleling Venturi and Scott Brown's contemporaneous critique from a different angle.
