Bio Sketch
Iwan Baan (b. 1975, Alkmaar, Netherlands) is an architectural photographer known for documenting buildings as inhabited, everyday settings rather than as idealized, unpopulated forms. He has photographed the work of architects including Herzog & de Meuron, Rem Koolhaas, Toyo Ito and Zaha Hadid. His honors include the first Julius Shulman Photography Award (2010), the Golden Lion for Best Installation at the Venice Biennale (2012), and the AIA New York Stephen A. Kliment Oculus Award (2016).
